What is the point of having a radar detector?
My dads a cop. We had a discussion on radar detectors. Now, I think are unnecessary. He said that the signal will be picked up a car nearly a mile away, if the path is clear. that the radar emits a noise, so if I'm going 25 mph the computer in the car, you hear a lower pitched noise and not disturb me. if I fly around the corner 70, the noise will be more acute if good, you can say it this way Im going too fast. when my detector picks up the signal, which may delay, but he knows what the speed was. So, really, a radar detector prevent anything. Sounds just sounds boring.
I write regularly ticket people radar detectors. Either they do not ignore the warning, or my speed when you hear the beep. I would not buy one.
