How can I detect a laser?
I want to build a kind of trip wire from the sensor using a laser and a certain type of detector. That would be a thing and the door sensor garage Travel (we know they are IR). Use a photodiode or a phototransistor. You would be much better with an infrared laser, diode and transistor because there are optically transparent in IR, but packets that suppress the light of the black sun, the sparkling fluorescent lights. This will make the circuit more sensitive to laser and much less sensitive to ambient light. Add Photo diode transimpedance amplifier and the output of a discriminator. That's it. If you want to be less sensitive to ambient light, modulating the laser at 10kHz and 10kHz add a filter bandpass and rectifier circuit. This will give you another factor of 100 suppression of stray light easily. I built something like a few months. I took a couple of evenings to make it work. It is not too hard. And the way they learn a lot about circuits.
