Online Traffic School Story

On my sixteenth birthday I got a brand new car! My parents put all their hard earned money into this car to make sure I got a good start. They didn’t want me to be burdened with a car payment and they trusted that I would be a good driver. We made a deal that they would pay my car insurance as long as I kept up my grades in school, which by the way I am a straight A student.

I messed up! I got my first speeding ticket the same day I got my drivers license. Needless to say my parents were just as disappointed in me as I was in myself. I knew what a hardship it was for them to afford this car and insurance for me, so when I got my first ticket I got an earful. I didn’t know that their insurance would go up over a ticket and I felt really bad.

So my parents told me I had to attended traffic driving school not only because they couldn’t afford the insurance increase but also because they didn’t want that on my record.
I also had to pay for the traffic driving school myself and keep my grades up otherwise they would take my car away. Couldn’t let that happen right?

In California, traffic school cost around $50.00 plus the cost of court fees and at 16 that is a pretty good chunk of change, so I did some shopping for the lowest traffic school I could find and found a California online traffic school that cost just under $10.00 plus court cost.

I completed the course and redeemed myself in my parent’s eyes. Unfortunately I got my second ticket about a year later. Knowing my parents were going to take my car away, I tried to hide the ticket from them. What can I say, I am still a kid! When I finally got the official notice in the mail, it read that I could not attend the California online traffic school again or any online school traffic course again because in California if you receive another traffic ticket within an 18 month window after online school traffic completion, you are obligated to either paying the ticket or going to court to contest it.

Really, I couldn’t let my parents down again and I couldn’t afford to pay the ticket or have the insurance go up. It just wasn’t right to do that to my parents, so I had to do something. I was searching around on the internet and found a book on getting out of traffic tickets.

I decided it was in my best interest to take care of this myself because I wasn’t about to lose my car. It was pretty much my only option because, like I said, I am only 16 I can’t afford a lawyer but more than that I didn’t want my parents to find out that I messed up again.

I must say I was a little nervous because I didn’t want to have to lie to my folks and skip school to go to court but I got lucky. I used what this book had to offer and didn’t have to attend court at all. I went step by step to make sure I covered all the bases and got the ticket dropped and never had to attend court so I didn’t have to keep lying to my parents.

Anyways this is what I learned. It is better to try and beat the speeding ticket first and save traffic school for later just incase you are unsuccessful at beating the ticket, which with this book I hardly doubt. Look for the lowest traffic school online because it is cheaper than attending the regular course and even if you are a responsible driver, traffic tickets happen.
