Points Driving Record New York

points driving record new york
I just got speed ticket in NYC. how will it affect my parent’s insurance?

I got speed ticket on the highway in new york city for going 70 on 50 limit road. I got almost 200dollar ticket with 4 points added onto the license. This is my very first ticket I’ve received since i started driving. I could pay the fee and take the online course to get all 4 points removed.

I am not under my parent’s insurance (State farm). Will this result in me being added to their list and make the insurance go up even a bit?

also will this show up if any organization/company decides to look at my driving record after the 4 points has been removed?
I also live in NYC

Oh, major moving violation.

If you’re not listed on the State Farm policy, you’re not insured under that policy, or while driving those cars, so THEIR insurance won’t go up – unless State Farm does an undisclosed operator report and finds you and decides to add you on. In which case, the insurance will go up dramatically, or flat out get cancelled.

Whoever’s policy has you covered (for the car you’re driving), at best, their insurance will go up a WAY LOT. At worst, it will be cancelled.

There is no “first ticket forgiveness” for a major moving violation – which this is.

Yes, even after this ticket ‘ages off’ in three years, anyone who checks your record, can still see it.

What are points on a driving record?
