Where should we stay the night in Nashville?

My husband and I are traveling this summer and we’re making an overnight stop in Nashville, TN. We want to know a good place to stay, where it is easy to see attractions. We are on a tight budget, so we’d like to spend less than $90/night. We would stay in a suburb of the city and drive in to town to do our sightseeing, but we don’t know about any of the suburbs.

Also, what is the name of the street that has all the live music and record stores?

Thanks

Prices will depend on the date of your stay (due to conventions and special events), so it is tough to give you specifics. Of course, staying downtown puts you near “the action”, but the good hotels are expensive and the inexpensive hotels are … well … I won’t stay in them. There doesn’t seem to be a mid-priced option downtown. Check out hotel reviews at www.tripadvisor.com.

You might check on hotels in West End, Brentwood, or near the airport. I always enjoyed staying at the Red Roof Inn near the airport (behind the Waffle House), but that’s been 10 years (before I moved here).

Check out the convention and visitors bureau site at www.visitmusiccity.com for hotel packages which might be a good way to stay in a better hotel. The Gaylord Opryland Resort is closed until later this year due to the flood.

I believe the street you are looking for is Broadway.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.
