How long do traffic violations and fix it tickets stay on your driving record if you live in California?

Most correctable violations (fix-it tickets) are not reported to DMV, provided they are corrected. A chart of which violations are assigned points are listed at the following website:

Major traffic violations, usually counting as two points, stay on your record for 10 years (including DUI, reckless driving, hit and run, failure to appear, failure to pay, etc). The vast majority of traffic violations stay on for only 3 years. Accidents stay on for 3 years. A more detailed explanation of this can be found at:
