How much will my insurance premium go up after a speeding ticket, I’m 17?
I am a 17 year old male whose car insurance is roughly $200 a month from Travelers. My parents (unlike me, haha) are perfect drives and have had no recent violations.
On the other hand, I got pulled over in MASS for doing 86 in a 65. It won’t happen again.
I live in CT. How much do you think this will increase by? and when I renew could my insurance company decide to not run my DMV record?
It depends on the company. Some companies have accident or conviction forgiveness. usually this goes into effect after 5 years of good driving on the policy. So if you are on your parent’s policy you may be okay. Other companies charge for accident or conviction forgiveness. If your parents have paid for this, then most likely the rate will not go up. The best thing to do is keep your mouth shut. do not tell travelers. They will not add it unless they run your Motor Vehicle Report. They may or may not upon renewal.
