Texting While Driving Ticket…What do I do?

Okay, so I live in North Carolina and they passed a law last year making texting while driving illegal. I…obviously…wasn’t following the rules and got caught. The fine is $214 dollars. I could either pay this or go to court in front of a judge.
However, my court date is in my hometown on a Monday, and I’m already back at college which is two hours away and going to court would require me to miss a whole day of classes.
I read the legal code for NC and it says that this ticket will not affect your insurance or add points to your driving record. Also, most of the time, people get fined about $100 dollars plus the cost of court fees. So yes, going to court would be a little bit cheaper than just paying it, but I would also waste TIME and MISS CLASS and since it doesn’t effect my insurance or driving record…is there any reason that I shouldn’t just plead guilty and pay the $214 fine?
Please help.

Yes, pay the fine and stop texting while driving. $214 is a lot cheaper than killing someone and losing a civil suit.
