one point affecting parents insurance rates?

before i got my permit/license, and this is while I was a minor, I got three tickets and they gave me 1 point on my “driving record” even if I don’t have one yet. I’m turning 18 in a couple of days and plan to get my permit. They said as long as I paid off my tickets I would be able to try to obtain a permit. The thing is, if/when I get my driver’s license and I’m still living with my parents this time without my own car or insurance, wouldn’t I have to bring a car (ex. my parents) that has insurance with my name under it as well (ex. parents’ insurance)? This means if I have to put my name under my parents insurance for driving their car during the road test, wouldn’t this affect their insurance rates because of my one point? If so, how badly would this affect them?

Your name does not have to be on the insurance when you go to take your driver’s test.

You can not be insured until you have a driver’s license.

After you have your license, if your parents add you to their insurance policy, their rates will go up not only because of the points, but also because of your age.
