I just tried to play a CD, and apparently my CD drive is missing?

I have an Acer Aspire 5101 with a DVD / RW and I only tried to copy a CD media, but says it can not be removed without a CD. I have not tried to use it for a couple of weeks, but everything was fine before that and I have not had any accidents with him. The unit sounds as if the burden and did all the usual buzz, but nothing happens. The little light is orange and I'm sure is supposed to green? Any ideas Yahooers oh wonderous and useful? TA:)

Hi, this is a very common problem with laptops, the disc dies.8-((In First check and see if the drive is in Windows Explorer, if at least the unit, if not, reboot and enter the BIOS and see if it is there. If you have not seen in the bios, then the unit is likely to die, it feels like when you need a new disc that is very expensive. If you look in the BIOS and Windows may try a disc cleaner, if that fails, then it is likely that the unit is defective. Arnak
