best PC player for YouTube (view, save, record)?

I asked this question and got some good answers but am not sure I was specific in my question – my fault, sorry. I am currently using RealPlayer, which has a very handy “download video” feature that I love and a good, clear viewer better than I’ve found elsewhere. However, I’ve read that there may be other Better programs out there. I need the best viewer and program that will preferably record or save (to hard drive) YouTube videos to disc. Someone recommended iTunes, but isn’t that mostly for iPods? I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles – also I need one that I won’t have to have an extra program to convert the files to make them recordable. I REALLY appreciate your help.

If you like Real Player and think that it does all your job, I don’t see why you should go looking for other options. I do believe that there are better media players like VLC, GOM, Windows Media Player etc., but I don’t think they will do your job.
