How long does it take for the points/violations to come off you driving history?

I had a horrible driving record when I was 16 to 18. Now that I am 28 turning 29, everytime I get pulled over my complete history comes up. Now we all know that the police never pre-judge anyone. I have had a bad streak for the last 12 months but my record was clean for about 2 years. What has to be done and hokw do I do it?

For points to remain on your record, it vary between states, but the average if 3 years. DMV points are different from Insurance points. You can have insurance points without dmv points, but if you have dmv points, almost certainly you will have insurance points. DMV violations, however, will remained on your record forever. I am a real estates broker and so I am on the road daily, i received on average 4 tickets a year, last year I had 6, ( 2 parking, 4 speeding). I keep my points low by hiring attorneys to take care of all my moving violation tickets. An through the attorneys, I am fairly familiar with points and violations records.
