Who else besides me is fed up with the ever increasing gas prices? Around the Seattle, WA area where I live?
it’s over $4 a gallon and rising, and that’s for the cheapest Unleaded, the 87 Octane. When is enough…enough????
Who else is fed up? When will this stop? When will it go back to “normal” ? And don’t tell me that they pay $10 a gallon in Europe. If that’s the case, then why are the oil companies making RECORD profits? They are price gauging us. I am purposely not going out much anymore. I’m walking a lot more, riding my bike, and thinking about getting a hybrid car or even a moped. I can’t sit around and wait for the prices to go down, because they simply aren’t. I drive a 1995 Honda Civic Hatchback, which has 200,000 miles on it, but still gets 35 miles to the gallon, that’s nice, but not good enough. I clearly remember an AM/PM gas station/mini mart here in the town I live in, 20 miles north of Seattle, in the summer of 2001 just before 9/11 happened, I remember when gas was .98 a gallon, and now it’s over $4 and rising. This is hyper-inflation. You agree?
The government makes more on a gallon of gas than the oil Co’s. Yet who searches for it, drills for it, refines it and brings it to our gas tanks.
The increase in demand from growing economy’s such as China and India and the control OPEC has over pricing and production will drive the cost up.
We have oil in our country but we don’t drill for it! Our economy is dependent on oil! We need to drill our own in our own territory! We can do it cleaner and safer than other countries! To grow our economy we need to produce our own energy. Be it oil or other sources. In the meantime we are at the mercy of others!!!

Pulled over for reckless driving?
Hi,
I just got a reckless driving ticket in Idaho. I was pulled over because as I was merging onto the road the car in the lane I was merging into swerved a little…there was an officer 100yds or so behind them who saw them swerve, then he pulled me over for reckless driving. I was going maybe 42mph in a 35mph zone (my ticket has no speed on it though). I am 24 and I have a completely clean record. Is this something I should hire a lawyer for and is there a chance I can get it reduced to just a citation, not a misdemeanor? Any advice is appreciated…thanks!

If the other car swerved then they must have felt you were too close. If you are the one merging then the other car has right of way, even if you use your turn signal (which you should, it is the law). Just because you signal that does not mean the other car has to let you in. That is the courteous thing to do, but they do not have to. Which is why we also look before changing lanes.

How should I handle a speeding ticket received during my period of 6 months of testing?
Time: 10:00 PM circumstances: Debit Card Left in the pizzeria near 20 minutes. I had to find the girlfriend of his work at 10. Jet drop is otherwise empty highway 35 mph to 50 mph. He was arrested and a walk. My license has had no problems since I got it. However, the problem is that I received in mid-January and it was in early June According to NYS law if I commit a traffic offense within six months of probation, my license will be suspended for 60 days. I have a job on time full and not lose the license, even for two months. I am not a bad driver, it was a case of speeding fed by frustration, fatigue and hunger. But it will not be an excuse for the judge. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.
Sorry, you're stuck in the second wall. From what I saw on the court (in some different states) who do not bat an eye when it is the suspension of a license. No apology is sufficient. I know that Ive lived in the U.S., you can apply for a permit to go to work, and only when a suspension so that the work is not for judges to find an excuse not to suspend them. I look to see if you have this option available to you. I hope you do, good luck.
