Alarm detector false radar?
Has there ever false alarms on your radar detector? I have a Cobra ESD-7000, and it works very well when their police. (no speeding in my name yet ..) anyway, about 3 times the laser detector goes off when I start to happen to anyone, just after I press the accelerator. It infuriates me, if I was return, and then …. guess what ….. no police! which is so boring. Is this radar detector? somehow detects the acceleration? energy bouncing off the car of the future? I am lost and can not find anything in the network … if someone has an idea please let me know. thank you. (and all those who said I should not speed, I'm not a crazy driver, no accidents, I 5-15 mph over the speed limit then do not say anything negative.) Answers Purely informative please
All radar detectors are false alarms. Alrams false laser are generally few and in between. I do not think it is detecting your acceleration. Some cars have a speed laser guided that may trigger. I only had two false alarms, laser cruise with my Valentine One and most often due to certain vehicles controlled laser-guided or any other type of brake lights.

I have another question about living in Canada (Thank you moritati for the encouraging massage on living in Ontario). I am moving to Missisauga soon from Colorado and wondering about the procesdure of getting a drivers license there. I have more that 6 years of driving experience in the US and have a very clean record. My questions are: 1) do I need to go through any tests to get adrivers license in Canada? 2) if I bring over my car, how difficult it is to get it registered and insureed? I wonder if there is anyboy have had the same exeprience and help me to shed some light on this matter?

First, go to the Colorado DMV before you leave and get them to run a printout of your driving history. Second, get your insurance company to give you a letter showing how long you have been insured and your claims history.

Note that you have only 60 days from taking up residence in Ontario to get an Ontario licence and licence plates.
As for your vehicle, as you will be “permanently” exporting it from the United States, you have to go through a procedure with US Customs.
To export a motor vehicle from the United States, the exporter must provide documents that demonstrate proof of ownership. In almost all cases, this will be the certificate of title. The original ownership documents, or a certified copy, and two copies must be presented to U.S. Customs.
If you are exporting through a land border port, you must submit the ownership documents to that port at least three days before exportation. On the date of exportation, you must present the vehicle to U.S. Customs to verify that the car being exported is the one described in the ownership documents.
The car will be subject to Customs inspection at the time of exportation. If the exportation is by ship or plane, both the vehicle and ownership documents must be presented to Customs at least 72 hours before lading, at which time Customs will conduct its inspection.
