im looking to get a radar detector and im looking at the Escort Passport 8500 X50. I get the V1, but its beyond my budget. I know the X50 8500 does not detect the laser will also be locking? What is the point that Laser detection, if it is Jam? it has already late!
Good point about laser jamming. speed does not unless you have a lot of vehicles, and if you can, try to keep the right lane, just behind another vehicle. Beltronics 995 radar detector is good too. as are the new versions of whistles. check all sites. beltronics.com vector.com whistler.com but stay away from Cobra and Uniden. Believe me … I have two sets Beltrones of detectors 795 and do it well. 895 is a little better, and 995 can operate outside of AA batteries, comes with a holster, leather, and power cord too. These can be found at Radio Shack. On the other, like Whistler, you can find at Walmart. Drive safely and God bless ….. I hope that aid in the selection. PS If you want a disturbing radar / laser Phaser, you should spend about 500 more, not the V1 does not do well. black widow is one that can still offer this type of installation. This is a permanent solution to your car or truck, though.
