No record online and the court is close? Will I be fine or jailed?
I got a traffice ticket on 3/9/10 and the last day to appear to court is 5/2/10. I went to court and was told to come back on the 1st, like the paper shows (she must’ve misread). The court is close today (Sat), so will be tomorrow (Sun).
The online system shows no record of any kind for my ticket. I tried using both my driver’s ID or the ticket #.
I’ll skip school and go again Monday, but will I get in trouble for appear late, get fine more, etc? What’s the situation right now?
I live in California, it’s my first ticket, a typical college student, started driving for about a year.

most states have a policy whereas if a ticket is written as a “court date” ticket you have to show up on the date they give as the court date. If that date falls on a weeked, the next available business day, in your case monday, would be your court date/ So you won’t be jailed or fined for being late but you will probably have to pay the ticket.
