Can I still become a Columbus (Ohio) Police officer with an OVI and other charges on my record?

Charges include:
DRIVING UNDER FRA SUSPENSION M1 in 2008: Guilty
PROHIB ALCOHOL U/21 M1 in 2008: Guilty
I want to be a police officer more than anything and the fact that I may have already thrown it away before it has started kills me. I am now 21 with a valid driver’s license. But this is my past. Thanks in advance.

In most states, you have to wait ten (10) years from the date of your conviction before you can hold a Peace Officer License.

However, very few agencies will hire an applicant with any criminal background.

Your criminal convictions show a lack of responsibility on your part and that alone will get you rejected.

Good Luck.
