Can a lawyer represent you in court if you live out of state?

I live in Florida and the need to set an appointment the court in the state of Kentucky for a traffic violation. I was told to go to court will set a date and the next day was presented to the audience. Now, my question is how can I get a lawyer from Kentucky was presented to me? I see the only option is to pay me a plane ticket to go there just to set a hearing date.
