is it possible to drive from chile to alaska?

considering its all on the same “landmass” – i know you will go through a hell of border customs but in the end is it physically possible to drive to chile (santiago) to alaska (anchorage)? has anyone tried it for maybe a guiness world record? if a bridge was built between alaska and russia you might be able to drive to moscow, and all of the european cities london, madrid, paris (though it would take months…….) i like the idea of a “connected world”

Won’t be a record… A friend of mine and I planned a motorcycle trip from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Argentina, thinking the same thing only to learn it has been done before numerous times (all sorts of vehicles).

After we had sought out sponsorship, and arranged the bikes, a civil war broke out in Chile, and Venezuela was having a case of unrest, let alone what was going on in Columbia; we opted out.

We laid our plans to rest after 4 months of very hard planning and preparation, at a cost of thousands of dollars just in the preparation of specialized equipment.

It would have been one huge endeavor. I oft times think what a grand adventure though.

There is a lot of discussion regarding the bridge to Siberia. I would imagine we will be seeing feasibility studies in great frequency now.
