I have been spending the last twelve months making a variety of home improvements to our family property. In the last three months I have purchased a couple of new front doors and in this article I will be writing about how I managed to secure a top deal on these doors.
It was my wife’s idea to do this home improvement program – her name is Linda. For the previous three years we had been planning to move home however then the recession along with the problems in the housing market began to hit hard. In the end we decided that, for now, we would continue to live in our existing property. This however was not a decision that Linda was that happy with – she had been looking forward to the move to a new house and was reluctant to admit and accept that this was not going to happen. I can understand as to why she was so frustrated as I was also some what upset.
The front doors that I have recently purchased were bought on the internet. I had spent a heck of a lot of time contacting different suppliers that I had found on the high street and in the local classified adverts – including the yellow pages – but it was the world wide web that eventually came up trumps with the best prices. In the end I was some what amazed with just how much cheaper these prices were.
It is now the turn of buying a few external doors and then perhaps I can start to relax once again – but I doubt if Linda will allow me to do this. She has a lot more grand plans for the property before she will let me off the hook – these include installing water underfloor heating. To be fair I will be sourcing these online as well which will save me the hassle of going to the high street.
