Oklahoma Driving Record Violations

Changing lane violation?
So I was driving back from dinner and made a quick right turn to the exit ramp. It was late, dark, and very very few cars around. I made the quick turn because we were lost and the back seaters quickly yelled “turn right here!” (though, that’s no excuse). A cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket.
Two questions:
1) Can I fight this in court? Is there ANY way to fight it or should I just pay it?
2) How much would this cost? I’m in Oklahoma and the only two fines on the back that could possibly relate to this is A) “All other bond Traffic Violations” and B) “OP in a manner not Reas & Prop”.
So my question is, should I try and fight this in court and tell them the situation? I have a clean driving record aside from this.. Or should I just send the money in?
Thanks…
Operating a vehicle in a manner not reasonable and properly – pretty much can be applied to anything. The officer’s judgement is generally considered more reliable in court that your own appraisal of your driving skills.
In my state you could have also received a ticket if one of your tires drove over the solid line near the turn lane instead of the dashed lines where turns are permitted. You also could have received a ticket if you failed to continuously signal your turn, for at least 200 feet, on roadways where the speed limit is 45mph or higher. (100 feet on roadways less than 45mph).
Go to court and tell the judge that you did not disobey the traffic law because your passengers gave you poor advice. The worst that could happen besides being laughed at it paying the extra court fees.
