How many times must pass a written test to renew your license in Illinois?

I have a paper in the mail to renew my driver's license, and stated that "an eye examination, all relevant written examinations (s) and a fee of $ 10.00 is required." I always say that when time to renew your license and may not necessarily mean that you must pass a written test? I got my license 12 years ago and since then I got a speeding ticket 10 years ago and a fine for being caught driving on the shoulder during the Eisenhower 2 years ago, so do not know if this has nothing to do with it, so I must pass a written examination.
